You have no idea how painful it was for me to write the title of this post. This has become one of my biggest pet peeves. Everyone uses this online. It is in tweets, Facebook updates, blog posts…it is everywhere. I know what you are just sayin’ because you just said it. Say it and be done with it.
While we are on wordplay quirks that drive me nuts… using ‘so’ all the time. I hear this on NPR interviews on a regular basis, it appears to be the new uhm. I’m not crazy about people who sprinkle uhm throughout their dialogue but at least it isn’t intentional. It’s okay every once in awhile but at the beginning of everysinglefreaking thought? Not so much.
So, yeah. I’m uhm, just sayin’.

My pet peeve is, “It is what it is.” The phrase is meant to imply that there is nothing that can be done to change a situation, so you should reconcile yourself to it and move on to preserve your sanity. However, it’s usually used by people to mean, “I know this is bothering you, and while there are things I could do to change it, I can’t be bothered, so you need to stop whining about it so I can have some peace and quiet.” I get all ragey just thinking about it.
Good addition to the list
