While we’ve been kind of homeschooling for the last two weeks, last week we took off because everyone was sick and the week before that was getting use to it so….I’d say we’re having a new grand reopening! This week we will be doing constructive play in our classroom during our school hours which brings me to part of our curriculum, art and music.
I have signed Little Bear up for an art class on Thursdays and a music class on Fridays. This is in addition to his hour of speech/occupational therapy on Wednesdays and his in home teacher on Tuesdays. Whew. Oh and all of the outside stuff is an hour drive each way because we live in the middle of nowhere. I thought I might be overscheduling him but the speech therapist thought it would be a great way for him to work on all of his skills so we are going to give it a try. The art class starts this week and lasts for nine weeks and the music class starts in two weeks and lasts till December. If he likes them we’ll resign up if he hates it or it is too much we’ll try alternating them or giving it up altogether. We’ll see. I’m not entirely sure how to do art or music for my little ones so I think it will be a great learning experience if nothing else. The point is we’ll be out of the house three days a week, during our classroom time so I’m worried about how that will affect our preschool. May have to work on the schedule I had planned which was from 9-11:30 every day. Hmmmm.
What is your schedule like for your preschooler? What do you think is too much??
